An Oasis for Inspiration This homeowner wanted the perfect place to write outside, but her existing two story deck was in pretty bad condition. In order to fully enjoy the private wooded backyard, the homeowners wanted to create a new screened porch with two side decks, one that would accommodate the new hot tub and stairs to the lower level patio. After removing the existing two story deck, new support posts were added to fully support the weight of the new porch as well as the new hot tub that would go on the new side deck. The screened-in room featured bead board ceilings, skylights, custom trim work, and a diagonal ceramic tile floor. Cedar panel wainscoting created a low maintenance detail added for texture. The end project was the perfect space to enjoy time with family and friends, just sit quietly with nature read or, more importantly for the homeowner, a place to write. |
